Burnside’s Bridge Antietam Folk Art Canteen - Inventory Number: CAN 162 / SOLD

Well executed rendition of the famous Burnside’s Bridge over the Antietam creek.  The back side of the canteen bears the painted legend “Burnside’s Bridge / Antietam Maryland”.  The canteen is a Civil War example that was converted for post war usage with triangular sling loops and later link strap for hanging.  A veteran of two wars and then turned into the present folk-art memento of this famous engagement.
