Confederate Infantry “Block I” button of “local” manufacture, two-piece construction with a tin back that has been pushed in and broken. The face exhibits a deep plum brown patina with some pushes and dings. This variety is listed as CSI243B2 in Uniform Buttons of the United States 1776-1865 by Warren K. Tice. A classic Confederate infantryman’s button.
