    Confederate Confederate Infantry ‘Script I” Button, Battle of Gettysburg - Inventory Number: BUT 261 / SOLD

    Battle of Gettysburg

    Excavated Confederate 22mm Infantry button of two-piece construction with an English script “I” on the face. This style is listed as CSI215 in Tice’s button book. The back still retains the shank and the backmark of S. Isaac Campbell & Company of London, which was one of the largest suppliers of arms and equipment to the Confederacy. The button has a gray/brown patina with some ground action to the face. A classic Confederate button run through the Blockade from England. From a collection of local Gettysburg Relics recovered in the 1950’s.  Accompanied by certificate of authenticity.

    Comes housed in a display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
