Referred to as the “artillery” style plain two-piece confederate belt plate and was produced circa 1861 – 1862. This plate mimics the design encountered on the short artillery sword belt rig. Recovered in Maryland. Scarce plate, excavated together, not a marriage.
Comes housed in 6 inch x 8 inch riker display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
