    Identified Model 1840 Musician’s Sword - Inventory Number: SWO 259 / SOLD

    Inscribed on blade to Charles Tuttle of the Train of Artillery.  He also served in the 2nd New Hampshire Infantry. Complete with its original scabbard.

    He resided in Manchester NH and enlisted on January 18th, 1862 as a 17 year old musician. He re-enlisted on 2/18/1864 and was wounded 6/27/1864 Petersburg, VA finally mustered Out on 12/19/1865 at City Point, VA. Promoted to Corporal 7/1/1864. Born in Epping, NH and died there on 5/20/1898.
