“Liberty and Union” Folding Knife / SOLD

Mid-19th century folding knife with "LIBERTY AND UNION" emblazoned on the cross guard.  The cross-guard and pommel are silver, bearing the patriotic motif of an eagle, shield, and panoply of arms. The handle is horn with mother of pearl inlays. One section of the cross guard is broken off. The blade measures 4 ½” with a gray finish and is missing a small bit of the tip. A highly desirable knife from the Civil War era.
