Model 1850 Non-Regulation Officer’s Sword - Inventory Number: SWO 262 / SOLD

Wonderful original example produced by Clauberg Solingen.  The iron-hilt example with Eagle and "U.S." with banner reading: “E Pluribus Unum”.  The blade is excellent with nearly all of its original frosting and polish and bears the inlayed brass “Iron Proof”.  Ricasso with maker’s marking for W. Clauberg. British style guard with cut-out of Federal eagle and small US, the pommel of French form as the Model 1850 Foot Officer’s sword. Grip is covered with three strands of brass wire. Scabbard is very good with some original finish on the body.  An absolute perfect example of a sword with wear from the field and a ultra fine condition blade.
