Pocket sized paperback hymn book published by the Boston Young Men’s Christian Association. Inscribed in period pencil on the front page is “Corpl A.D. Shaw, Co. I 37th Mass Vols.” Shaw was a veteran soldier that saw service in the 10th, 37th, and 20th Massachusetts regiments between 1861 and 1865. 

Comes housed in a 6 x 8 inch display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
