The Southern Soldier’s Prize Songster / SOLD

Rare Confederate song book “containing martial and patriotic pieces (chiefly original,) applicable to the present war. Published in Mobile, Alabama by W.F. Wisely in 1864. The book is 104 pages and is bound in a crudely woven cloth binding reinforced on the inside with Confederate newspaper. Some of the title paper applied to the exterior of the front and back covers remains. The book is inscribed with the names of Jno. Bigham, Marry Bigham, and Marry Garrett. The book measures 6” by 4” and comes with a red silk ribbon used as a bookmark, which reads “10th Annual Reunion/ Bell County Ex-Confederate/ July 6th and 7th, 1898.” A scarce piece of Confederate memorabilia.
