1st Lieutenant of Infantry Shoulder Bars

 

Beautiful, matched pair of Civil War-era 1st Lieutenant of Infantry shoulder straps, featuring rich sky-blue velvet fields bordered in intricately embroidered gilt bullion. The finely executed gold embroidery retains excellent texture and luster with a combination of dead and bright jaceron bullion.

 

These straps would have adorned the frock coat or shoulder boards of a Union officer serving in the infantry. Each bar shows light toning and gentle wear consistent with age and field use, yet remains exceptionally well-preserved with strong color throughout.

 

An excellent, original example of Federal officer insignia—ideal for display or to accompany a officer’s uniform grouping.

 

Comes housed in a 6 x 8 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
