Antique Apothecary Bottle – Zinci Sozoiodolate

 

An elegant 19th-century blown glass apothecary bottle with ground stopper and original label reading Zinci Sozoiodolate. This rare piece once housed a zinc salt of sozoiodol, a medicinal iodine compound used as a radioopaque medium, a wound antiseptic, and in syphilis treatment in the late 1800s. The bottle features a clear cylindrical form and a gold-bordered label. Small chip on the lip.   Perfect for collectors of antique medical or pharmaceutical items, this bottle adds a touch of historical charm to any display. Approximately 8.5 inches in height.
