Carved Cross Pendant

Hand-carved from bone, the piece features a straightforward Latin cross design with a small loop at the top, likely intended for suspension on a string or cord. Its modest construction and material suggest it may have been crafted by a soldier in camp or hospital, serving as a personal devotional item or a token of faith during the hardships of war. Such keepsakes were common among both Union and Confederate troops, often carried as symbols of spiritual comfort and hope.
