Cased Binoculars by T & H Doublet 


 
A handsome and well-preserved pair of binoculars featuring excellent optical clarity, housed in their original leather case lined with silk and velvet with small carrying handle a top. Original owners initials are imposed on lid in Old English. The binoculars retain an excellent Japanned finish and cross hatched leather covering. 
 
Manufactured by T & H Doublet of France, this set represents a fine example of the imports used in the service on both sides of the Civil War. The lenses remain clear and functional, making them an attractive display piece and a usable antique optic. 
 
An excellent accessory for a military, sporting, or gentleman’s travel collection.
