Description

Civil War Drumstick Carriage (restored)

 

An original clipped corner plate with cylinders design to hold the drumsticks while not in use.  This example has had a small hole at the top repaired with solder and iron fasteners reapplied.

 

The restoration has brought it back to its functionality while respecting its original 19th-century form. A scarce piece of military musician’s equipment, seldom encountered intact, and an ideal complement to a Civil War drum and sticks display.
