Description
Civil War Era Aqua Pickle Bottle
Excellent Civil War era aqua glass pickle bottle with classic tapered form and broad rolled collar. These large utility bottles were commonly used for pickled foods, preserves, and camp provisions during the mid-19th century, making them strongly associated with both civilian kitchens and military encampments of the period. The bottle retains a beautiful light aqua coloration with heavy glass, scattered seed bubbles, and pleasing whittled surfaces throughout. A wonderful example of utilitarian American glass from the 1850s–1860s with outstanding shelf display presence.
