A fine Civil War period infantry hat cord, executed in regulation sky blue wool. Constructed in the classic braided form, the cord terminates in a pair of decorative tassels, intended for wear on the Hardee hat.

The cord retains a pleasing, even blue coloration throughout, with light age toning and minor fraying at the tassel ends consistent with honest use. The braid remains tight and well-defined, and the piece displays attractively with no significant breaks or losses observed.
