Fine two-piece Confederate staff officer-style coat button featuring the large raised “C.S.A.” lettering to the face. The reverse retains its original shank and is clearly backmarked “SUPERIOR QUALITY,” a commonly encountered wartime manufacturer’s backmark seen on period buttons. Constructed of stamped brass with a warm untouched patina.

The button displays an attractive presentation with strong lettering and a pleasing mellow age tone. A desirable Confederate accoutrement that would display well in any Civil War button collection, Confederate grouping, or relic display.
