Connecticut State Seal Coat Button – Inventory Number: BUT 316 / SOLD Circa 1860’s two piece, convex coat size button which depicts Connecticut state seal symbolism, grape vines with Latin inscription, “He who transplanted continues to sustain”. Backmark: “Extra Quality”. Very fine condition, nice gilt patina. Shank present & straight. Button card was de-accessed from the “The National Civil War Life Museum” of Fredericksburg, VA which featured thousands of items pertaining to the daily life of the Civil War Soldier and the era.
