The entire diary is filled with entries regarding his service until the end of June 1863, also includes a log of the weather and conditions in the back as well as a listing of the soldiers in his company and what happened to them during their enlistment. Frederic Cornwall – Residence Milford CT; Enlisted on 9/10/1862 as a Private. On 10/4/1862 he mustered into “C” Co. CT 27th Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 7/27/1863 at New Haven, CT. He was listed as a POW 5/3/1863 Chancellorsville, VA Paroled 5/14/1863. ENGAGEMENTS: Fred ericksburg, Va., Dec. 13, 1862. Chancellorsville, Va., May 3, 1863.
