National Arms Co. “No. 1” Derringer Brooklyn, New York

 

National Arms Co. “No. 1” Derringer Brooklyn, New York, ca. 1865–1870 Single-shot, .41 rimfire short cartridge pistol, brass frame with delicate scroll engraving and integral bird’s head grip, steel barrel marked “NATIONAL ARMS CO. BROOKLYN N.Y.” with arrow-and-star motif. Rotating barrel secured by side latch, matching serial number 4,847. Smooth age patina with strong traces of original silver finish on brass frame. A fine and classic pocket derringer, and the precursor to the later Colt production.
