14th Brooklyn Shako Hat Plate - Inventory Number: INS 317 / SOLD

Rare brass shako plate worn by the 14th Brooklyn Regiment following the Civil War.  The device features a large widespread eagle above a Maltese cross bearing the motto: “BAPTIZED BY FIRE / 14 / N.Y.N.G”.  The reverse retains all four attaching prongs, held in place by solder.  A beautiful insignia of this famous New York Regiment!

Comes housed in 8 inch x 12 inch riker display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
