1/6th plate tintype of three Vermont brothers and their friend. Two of the gentlemen are members of the 6th Vermont Infantry of the famous “Vermont Brigade.” Standing at left in civilian dress is V.V. Vaughan. Standing at right is Henry J. Vaughan, who enlisted in the 6th Vermont in mid-July, 1863. Seated at left wearing an enlisted frock coat is John R. Leonard, who enlisted in the regiment in October 1861. At bottom right is E.L. Vaughan. The image was taken in Middlesex. Vermont in 1862, and is framed in copper and housed in a full leatherette case marked “Rehn’s National Gallery No.25, 5th 2nd St. Phillada.” A nice and clear Vermont Brigade image.
