Cased High Condition London Colt 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver – Inventory Number: HAN 265
Manufactured at the Colt London Factory in 1853 in standard configuration with 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel in .36 caliber, screw-in cone front sight, and hammer notch rear sight. Barrel address is marked with a broad arrow on either side and "ADDRESS COL: COLT. LONDON". Cylinder is roll die engraved with famous Naval Engagement cylinder scene, depicting the Texas Navy battling the Mexican Navy in the Battle of Campeche in May of 1843. Nickel plated brass trigger guard and backstrap mounted with 1 piece varnished walnut grips. English proof and view markings on left flat of barrel, and on each chamber of cylinder. Matching serial numbers observed on rammer, wedge, barrel, cylinder arbor, cylinder, frame, trigger guard, and butt. Housed in an English Colt factory partitioned case lined with blue velvet. Accessories inside of case include an Eley Bros, cap tin, a Colt marked bullet mold, an "L" shaped nipple wrench/turnscrew combination tool, Dixon and Sons marked oiler, and James Dixon & Sons marked powder flask. In excellent condition, with a large amount of the original bluing remaining with light edge wear, handling marks, light oxidation throughout, and evidence of cleaning on left side. Rammer and frame retain faded original case colors. Cylinder scene is crisp. Cylinder safety pins are present. Grips are very good with a vast majority of their original finish remaining with handling marks throughout. Bore is overall bright with areas of frosting and light abrasion from period use with crisp rifling. Case is very good with handling marks present.
