Boldly signed at lower left by Alexander Gardner, celebrated Civil War photographer best known for his haunting images of Antietam, Gettysburg, and the Lincoln assassination conspirators. This signed check provides a tangible link to one of the most important documentary photographers of the 19th century. Condition: Fine overall, with cancellation punch at left and minor age wear. Signatures are strong and fully legible.
