Sheffield Manufacture great bone handle! An original mid-19th century straight razor featuring a bone handle with brass rivet fastenings and a Sheffield-forged steel blade. The blade is excellent and extremely sharp, while the bone scales exhibit smooth age patina consistent with Civil War period examples. Sheffield was the leading cutlery center of the era, and razors of this style were commonly imported into the United States before and during the war. This example represents the type of personal grooming implement carried by soldiers and civilians alike. Length: 6 in.
