U.S. cartridge box plate, featuring the classic raised “US” lettering on a convex brass face with a lead-filled back. This regulation oval plate was issued to Union soldiers and affixed to the front flap of their cartridge boxes. Retains its original iron wire loops on the reverse—intact and undisturbed.

This example exhibits a rich, untouched patina with minor surface wear consistent with field use. A fine relic with strong eye appeal, perfect for any Civil War collection or display.
