Civil War U.S. Regulation Holster

The classic holster of the American Civil War. This example would accommodate a variety of large frame revolvers, notably the Colt and Remington “Army” .44 caliber revolvers. The leather remains in very good condition and supple, with some crazing to the finish on the flap. The belt loop is intact, as is the closure tab which is maker marked “CROSSMAN/ MAKER/ NEWARK N.J.” The plug at the muzzle end of this holster is still in place, a piece that is frequently missing. A wonderful example for your Civil War army revolver.
