Civil War U.S. Enlisted Man’s Jacket Buttons – Gettysburg Recovery, Ex-Lee’s Headquarters Museum - Inventory Number: GET 531
An impressive display of 8 original U.S. enlisted man’s jacket buttons, recovered from the Gettysburg battlefield and formerly part of the collection of Lee’s Headquarters Museum in Gettysburg. These excavated brass buttons represent standard issue worn by Union soldiers during the Civil War, most notably at the pivotal 1863 battle.
Each button exhibits varying levels of patina and battlefield wear, with several displaying excellent eagle and shield detail typical of Federal general service uniforms. They are presented on a blue velvet backing board, professionally labeled for display.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a battlefield grouping with direct Gettysburg provenance from a now-closed historical site.
Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with blue velvet and descriptive card.
