Colt's 1851 Navy Revolver with Holster - Inventory Number: HAN 165 / SOLD

The Overall condition is fine.  The iron has strong traces of original blue in the protected areas.  The cylinder scene is strong throughout.  The grip frame retains over 80% of its original silver finish.  Butt strap has a pair of engraved flourishes as well as the owner’s initial’s “J.C.” which are nicely executed.  The markings are clear throughout.  The serial numbers 59,533 match throughout.  The walnut grip is in good shape. Strong bore.  The action is excellent.  Here is a handsome example of one of Colt’s most prolific percussion revolvers with a stunning original tooled leather “Slim Jim” holster with deeply executed decorative panels.  The interior is lined with red Moroccan leather.  The original belt loop is present as is the leg tie, period reinforcement to the seam.
