General G.K. Warren Medal - Inventory Number: CUR 061 / SOLD

1864 Civil War medal commemorating Major General Gouverneur Kemble Warren.  Silver Coin, measures approx. 1.50 inches across. Obverse has a bust in profile of Major General Gouverneur K. Warren in the uniform of a Major General. The bust is surrounded by the inscription “MAJ. GEN. G. K. WARREN-1864.” Reverse has a 5th Corps Maltese cross at center surrounded by “COMMANDER OF THE 5TH CORPS-ARMY OF THE POTOMAC.” The bust of Warren is very well done and has some nice detail. SDC reference number 310C. Very Scarce.
