Gettysburg Shell Fragment / SOLD

This section of a Schenkl Artillery Shell was recovered from the Battlefield of Gettysburg and retains a wonderful original old ink tag stating: “Piece of Shell from Battlefield of Gettysburg by Mother”.  The iron is in excellent condition and free of pitting as it was likely a very early pick-up.  The piece measures 3 3/8” x 2”.  

Comes housed in 6 inch x 8 inch riker display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
