14 Karat Gold 1830’s Eyeglasses with Pin-in-Slot Telescopic Loop Slide or Jack Downing. Wonderful find these 1830s reading glasses. These are known as Narrow Loop Slide or Jack Downing glasses. The temples are Pin-in-Slot Telescopic, meaning they slide in and out. They are in excellent functional condition and have prescription lenses with beveled edges in excellent condition. The original red Moroccan leather case with gold embossed Philadelphia maker’s mark. E. Borher No. 402 Chestnut St. marking.
