"J.C. Johnson" Canteen - Inventory Number CAN 087  / Sold

Outstanding original Civil War model 1858 smooth side canteen manufactured by J. C. Johnson of New Yok as part of a contract for 100,000 canteens this contract took place on Feb. of 1865.  The original cotton sling Is near perfect and bears the ink inspectors stamp.  A wonderful condition example from the War!
