Model 1864 Cartridge Box / SOLD

July 1864 pattern cartridge box for the .58 caliber rifle-musket, distinguished by the stamped “US” on the flap in place of the cartridge box plate. The leather on the box is in good condition with light crazing and wear. The closure tab is still in place with no tears. Both original tins remain inside the box and are in excellent condition.  The bridle leather sling is supple with some crazing but it in good condition with the original eagle breast plate. This is a nice Civil War cartridge box.
