Scarce and fantastic pair of antique eyeglass frames, 18th century, hand-forged iron, round apertures, each double-hinged, two-part temple Condition is very fine commensurate with age, attractive condition, with no bends, breaks, or losses, retaining a rich, pleasing, untouched patina.

A superlative pair boasting fine craftsmanship and a striking presence. Each aperture can be opened, closed, and adjusted by means of a tiny handmade screw, so that an optician could provide modern custom lenses for practical use.  Accompanied by an original case of the same era slightly smaller than the spectacles for display.
