U.S. Army Hospital Department Bottle - Inventory Number: BOT 093 / SOLD

Scarce U.S. Army Hospital Department bottle issued through contract with the Government.  This example is embossed: U.S.A. / HOSP. DEPT.  The amber-colored U.S. Army Hospital Department bottle stands 9 inches tall and it has an applied lip in the style thought to be manufactured in Baltimore, MD.  Wonderful clean bottle with a small rougher are inside the lip and a busted air bubble on the back inside.  Otherwise, excellent. 

Following the Federal defeat at First Manassas and the grim realization that the war may last years and not months, the Army Medical Department, under the auspices of the Quartermaster Department, (the agency responsible for procuring supplies) began purchasing standard medicines for the army.  This bottle without the two minor flaws have sold in excess of $1,200.00.
