U.S. Army Medical Department Capital Operating Case / Sold
Three tier surgical / amputation kit with original brass plaque on lid reading “U.S.A. Medical Dept.”. The case retains a bright red velvet lining, with exception of the lid compartment which is lacking the fitted instrument housing. The lid separator is present and in outstanding condition. A group of seven original scalpels, lancets and tenaculums with checkered ebony grips are still present and marked Snowden of Philadelphia. The case is in great condition and the exterior retains nearly all of the original varnish. The engraved brass plaque on the lid has strong gold gilt finish remaining. A very nice displayable example.
