Late 1880s to early 1890s photographic print by William H. Tipton of a large group of men, women, and children with the Gouverneur K. Warren statue on Little Round Top. The image measures 9 ¼” by 7” and is mounted on cardstock. There is a slight tear with taped repair at the bottom left of the image.
William H. Tipton (1850-1929) was a Gettysburg native and apprentice of the Tyson Brothers photographers as early as 1862. After the war he opened his own studio in Gettysburg and became one of the most well-known photographers in the nation for his battlefield views.
