    “Artillery Epaulets from Jacket picked up at Cedar Creek” - Inventory Number: INS 326 Sold

    Wonderful documented pair of shoulder epaulet with red woolen bodies.  These were recovered from the battlefield of Cedar Creek, Virginia.  Accompanied by an original ink museum card attesting to their recovery.  They were previously mounted to a relic board which contained relics from various battlefields and travelled the country as part of an exhibit after leaving the G.A.R. hall by a>r and Mrs. Philip Dumont.  This pattern can be found in numerous early war images and is more common in the blue infantry version such as were used by the 20th New York State Militia. This pattern oof epaulet was also found in early war images of Confederate soldier’s as well as the Union.

    Comes housed in 12 x 16 riker display case with black velvet and descriptive card.
