Battle of Gettysburg
Excavated Confederate 23mm Cavalry button of two-piece construction with a lined Roman “C” on the face. This style is listed as CSC203A4 in Tice’s button book and is of English manufacture. The back still retains the shank with a blank back. The button has a dark bronze/green patina with a plow or shovel strike below the “C”. A classic Confederate cavalry button run through the Blockade from England. From a collection of local Gettysburg Relics recovered in the 1950’s. Accompanied by certificate of authenticity.
Comes housed in a display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
