Infantry Major’s Smith’s Patent Shoulder Straps - Inventory Number: INS 279/ SOLD

Scarce pair of Civil War Smith’s patent shoulder straps for a major. Smith’s straps featured a stamped brass false embroidery with velvet background and proved very popular with officers during the war. This pair is in good condition with brass border and oak leaves over a faded blue background and are backed with green cloth. The blue backgrounds have faded to a green hue and would display well in a medical context if desired.

Comes housed in an 8 x 12 inch display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
