Monitor VS Merrimack – Inventory Number: SCU 042 / SOLD Outstanding original charcoal drawing with Mica Ex: Norm Flayderman Collection Ca. 1862 Battle of the Monitor and Merrimack, also called Battle of Hampton Roads, (March 9, 1862), a harbor at the mouth of the James River, notable as history’s first duel between ironclad warships and the beginning of a new era of naval warfare.   Professionally framed and ready for display, frame measures 19 1/8″ x 16″.  Really nice in appearance and very attractive original Civil War period drawing for display.
